A Conversation with Omar Ramadan-Santiago

Please join the Latinx Studies and Muslim American Studies Working Groups for an hour with Dr. Omar Ramadan-Santiago. Topics will include connections between artistic and scholarly practice, intersections between Latinx and Muslim American studies, and postdoctoral careers beyond academia.

Omar holds a PhD in Anthropology with a certificate in Africana Studies, a MA in Latin American and Caribbean Studies, and a BA in Anthropology and Religion. He has studied and worked extensively on issues of colorism and anti-Blackness within communities of color as well as the intersection of race, culture, and religion with regards to how people perform their various identities. Currently, he is an ACLS Writing Fellow and works as a freelance cultural consultant.
