Eduardo Mendieta is the Chair of the Department of Philosophy at Stony Brook University, specializing in global ethics, critical theory, theories of modernity, postmodernity, colonialism, and Latin American philosophy.  His lecture is prompted by Mayra Rivera’s course, “Being and Knowing in Latina Theory,” cross-listed by the Divinity School and the Department of Roman Languages and Literatures.  The public is invited and encouraged to attend."
