Concentrator in Social Studies; Secondary in English
Ajay Singh is a senior in Kirkland House concentrating in Social Studies with a secondary in English. He’s from Houston, Texas, and is interested in some combination of the histories and theories of ethnic studies, racial justice and anti-racism, alternative forms of education and research, and (radical) social movements. Ajay has lived many extra-curricular lives at Harvard, but now most of his time is spent with the Harvard Ethnic Studies Coalition, advocating for (amongst other things) a department dedicated to ethnic and indigenous studies on campus. Ajay first saw EMR as an exciting space for conversations on race that weren’t happening anywhere else on campus; it’s clear to him now that EMR is also a beautiful, vibrant community of supportive and brilliant peers and faculty, all working to imagine and build a better world. In his free time, Ajay gets lost in Wikipedia rabbit holes about video games and comics, unnecessarily questions things, enjoys running outside, and vibes to his self-curated Spotify playlists. Feel free to reach out if you’d like to talk about Ethnic Studies, EMR, or anything else (Ajay misses being a PAF)!
