Char Deslandes is a sophomore in the College pursuing a concentration in Social Anthropology with a secondary field in African American Studies, who is also undertaking language studies in Spanish and Jamaican Patois. Char was born and raised in London, England but is of Jamaican heritage and proudly so. Char is the incumbent Vice President of the Harvard Caribbean Club and Social Chair of the Harvard College British Club. She is an alumna of the Sutton Trust US programme and is an advocate for education as a means of social mobility. A first generation university student herself, Char an aspiring author and academic, endeavours to use her Harvard education as the foundation of a career in academia that will not only be personally fulfilling but inspiring to others.
