Farah Afify
Farah Afify, a first-generation immigrant born in Egypt and raised in and near Detroit, is a junior concentrating in Social Studies with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, Rights. Farah will be serving as one of two coordinators for the Muslim-American Studies Working Group, a space for critical Muslim studies at Harvard. Their specific research interests include Islamic liberation theology, transnational feminism and studies of gender, and Muslim, Arab, and Afro-Arab leftisms and political alliances. Outside of research, Farah works as an officer and board member at the Phillips Brooks House Association and also as an organizer for various advocacy campaigns on campus including Act on a Dream and the Harvard Ethnic Studies Coalition.
