Concentrator in Sociology; Secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, Rights
Sammantha is a junior in Leverett studying Sociology with a secondary in Ethnicity, Migration, Rights. She is from Brownsville, Texas, an area located beside the U.S.-Mexico border and is interested in immigration, higher education, and restorative justice practices. Through EMR, Sammantha is aiming to learn about the intersections of all her interests and the impact they may take at Harvard. So far, Sammantha has used the intersection between Sociology and these interests within EMR to challenge what she knows already and think about them in the context of South Texas, Harvard, and beyond. On campus, Sammantha is a leader in various Latinx cultural clubs, Act on a Dream, and mingles in pre-law and other related spaces. Outside of school and work, Sammantha loves exercising, eating sushi, and spending time with her family.
