The Muslim American Studies Working Group (MASWG) is a space of interdisciplinary collaboration between faculty, graduate students, and undergraduates pursuing scholarship on Muslim American histories, experiences, and intellectual traditions. The space will explore the connections between race, religion, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, migration, sectarian issues, and other factors within the Muslim American experience, problematizing these categories in the United States and in relation to power structures worldwide. Its goals are to build scholarly community, explore debates and developments in Muslim American Studies and related critical fields, and to enrich the research pursued by its members across Harvard University.
